Fugitives Memories

03.03 > 02.05.2026

46 St Paul Gallery is pleased to inaugurate its 2026 season with Dany Albiach,
a 2024 graduate of Villa Arson and winner of the 2026 Francis Bacon Mb Art Foundation Monaco Prize.

His recent work consists of pieces that combine Bic pen drawings and silkscreen printing on wood. The latter technique is approached as a pictorial medium in its own right, playing on thickness, otherness, and brilliance. The images used come from both old family archives and his current travels. The result is silent compositions in which temporalities interact and dissolve into one another.

Memory is an essential theme here: an intimate memory, made up of moments that are dear to him and photos lost on his phone. Disjointed and disparate, these images are like fragments that reconstruct landscapes through an intuitive narrative, without ever claiming to achieve a single truth.

This echo of memory is reinforced by the play of reflections, which convey a sense of
instability: certain elements appear or disappear depending on our position
in space. The absence of titles is deliberate, preferring that the pieces be approached as anonymous fragments of life, into which each viewer can project their own experiences.
